With no new releases in the charts this week, it comes as no surprise that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare remains on top of the chart for the fifth week in a row.
If you just can't wait for your Christmas surprises fortunately for you the UK Gaming Charts has one early. Yep, surprise! Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has become this year's Christmas Number One game.
Activision are a generous bunch aren't they? Not only do they give us a remastered copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare if we spend an additional £40 on the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but now they're letting us play the game for free - for five days.
It's that time of year again where the big two (or three this year) battle it out for Christmas number one. Yep, I'm talking about the war between shooters and sports, Call of Duty vs. FIFA. This week, it's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's turn on the top spot.
I'll be completely honest here, I've not really been a huge fan of the Call of Duty campaigns ever since the conclusion of Black Ops II. I didn't really pay attention to the Ghosts campaign, nor the Advanced Warfare campaign, and I damn-sure didn't care much for the Black Ops III campaign either - what a load of toff. So I did indeed go into the campaign with black tinted glasses firmly glued to my face. That being said, having forced myself once again through the campaign for the sake of the game's review, I can say I was somewhat surprised, though not overly.
Unsurprisingly Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has found itself on top of the charts for another week. However it's not all good news as the game has seen a pretty sharp decline in sales (-55% to be exact) causing its usual yearly competitor, FIFA 17, to gain momentum.
GfK Chart-Track has released the UK Gaming Charts this morning, and it's not looking that great for Call of Duty. Sure, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has landed in first place, but its sales are down almost 50% compared to last year's release.
If you think Call of Duty isn't challenging enough, Infinity Ward hopes to change that thought with a new permadeath mode coming to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to debut on November 4, which means that Activision have one more week to build hype and try to counter the (in my opinion) weirdly strong negative reaction to Infinite Warfare's initial trailer.
In the next couple of months the next entry into the Call of Duty franchise will be upon us. Fortunately for those who can't wait until November, there's some good news. Activision has unveiled exactly when players can get hands-on with the game via the game's Beta.
Activision has released a brand new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare which focuses on the game's single player campaign.
Along side the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare comes the remastered release of arguably one of the best Call of Duty games in the series, Modern Warfare. And here's a quick glimpse of the new remastered multiplayer.
Last night during Call of Duty XP, Activision unveiled what's in store for fans of the game's multiplayer mode. In a brand new trailer, you'll get to see the return of classes, as well as some of the more futuristic weapons and tech coming to the game.
Despite the huge amount of hate Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's initial trailer got, if you ask me that one space level Activision and Infinity Ward showed off at E3 looked fun.
