Good news VR fans, if you were keen to get your hands on the consumer edition of the Oculus Rift then you’ll be able to pre-order the headset as soon as January 6 – yes, that’s tomorrow.
Oculus VR announced the news yesterday via a fairly brief blog post, yesterday:
[su_quote]Today, we’re excited to announce that pre-orders for Rift will open on Oculus.com at 8am Pacific Time on January 6! We’ll be sharing everything you need to know to order your Rift on Wednesday when pre-orders go live.[/su_quote]
We’re assuming the “everything you need to know” part will include the price, which has yet to be revealed, though we have some idea that it’ll be around the $300 price point. We’re also yet to hear a solid release date for the headset.
Over the holidays it was revealed that the Oculus Touch controllers would be delayed until the later part of 2016, which may have disappointed a few VR fans, what’s more, NVIDIA has announced the specifications it believes are ideal for the best VR experience, and it’s not exactly low-end.
As for launch titles, the Oculus Rift is set to see a handful of games at launch including EVE: Valkyrie, Chronos, Edge of Nowhere, Damaged Core, and many more.
Stop by on Wednesday to hopefully see more Oculus VR news.
