Square Enix have released new pics to the public for the mouth-watering Final Fantasy X HD Remaster.
In the first game of the packaged X series, you take the role of Tidus, a Blitzball player for the Zanarkand Abes. After a tragic disaster caused by an attack from an entity named Sin, Tidus wakes up in a strange, yet familiar world. His quest will take him across this new world of Spira, uncovering the mystery that is Sin and the wardens that are sworn to fight it.
Final Fantasy X2 begins shortly after the events of X and puts you in the sandals of summoner Yuna, who swore to rebuild Spira. There are factions at war and a message from the past that will lead her and her companions, Rikku and Paine on a long, arduous journey seeking answers.
The screenshots show the characters in all their high definition beauty. Present are gameplay and CGI captures from the ultra powerful aeon, Yojimbo, to some gorgeous shots of the Yuna and Tidus lake scene.
Both games have a magnificent levelling system, using the mighty sphere grid and dress sphere system. Harking back to days before FF used live action commands, the turn based fighting is still amazingly sleek. Including a fully features Blitzball mini-game, offering tactical management in one of the best extras ever and the deep, emotion-stirring story that builds to a crashing climax and is the last Final Fantasy to offer the much loved gameplay of the 90’s and early 00’s. It’s great that those who may have missed this episode of the series will get a chance to play them in beautiful HD, although the originals were none too shabby in the first place.
With a release date set for Winter 2013/14, it’s unclear whether we’ll see the bundle before or after Christmas.
