Capcom and Valve announced the Resident Evil 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project yesterday, a cross over project between two of the industry’s most respected publishers who have brought games like DmC: Devil May Cry and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. This cross over will see characters from Left 4 Dead 2 feature exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6 and enemies from the latter title will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. Sounds impressive right?
What makes this crossover even better is that all of the content will be made available for fans of either title absolutely free.
Players who play the PC version of Resident Evil 6 will be able to select one of the four survivors that feature in Left 4 Dead 2; Coach, Nick, Ellis, and Rochelle in a special PC exclusive mode titled The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customised weapon load-out created just for the use in this game. Along with the four characters and game mode, players will also come across two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from Left 4 Dead 2 – The dreaded Witch and Mini Tank.
The PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 won’t be missing out on this deal either, those that own the second zombie survival title will be able to experience some of Resident Evil 6’s most feared enemies – Lepotitsa, Napad, and Ogroman. Each of the three characters have been brought to life using Valve’s Steam Workshop tools.
Both of these exclusive crossover features will become available this spring, so certainly look forward to that!
