Recently the Cyanogen Inc. hit a huge milestone by having their CyanogenMod ROM pre-installed on the OPPO N1 complete with Google’s blessing to use the Google Apps Suite. This particular version of the OPPO N1 is a limited run however with the company originally releasing another version of the N1 with ColorOS but that doesn’t mean owners of the ColorOS N1 have to miss out as Cyanogen Inc have released an update giving users the chance to update to the CyanogenMod ROM!
Yesterday Cyanogen Inc. released an update for the OPPO N1 that upgrades the handset from the original ColorOS to their CyanogenMod ROM that’ll be shipping with a limited number of devices. The update process is surprisingly easy with no need to root, flash, or unlock any part of your phone.
Simply download the update onto your device, then launch the system update app found in the tools folder in the app drawer. Next you’ll need to select “Local update” and then tap “upgrade now”. This will shoot you into recovery, once there, you’ll probably want to select English, then wipe data and cache and install from SD card. The instructions are Simple.
