New images have been leaked via BGR that reveal the new Amazon Kindle HD 2. Rumours have been circulating for some months now about Amazon launching/refreshing their range of e-readers and tablets with the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD being amongst that. These latest images show a fair few improvements over the Kindle Fire HD such as relocated buttons and speakers.
The new Kindle Fire is said to be lighter, have easier to access buttons, a new form factor, and better speaker positioning. If these leaked images are anything to go by they’re not wrong.
Amazon seem to have switched away from it’s curved, rounded edges and have opted for a more square-like shape with harsher edges. Instead of the Kindle logo they’ve opted for a larger “Amazon” logo on the back and have relocated the power button and the volume controls to either side of the tablet. We’ve got news of the specs too. The Kindle Fire HD 2 will have a high-resolution 1,920 x 1,200-pixel display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 clocked at around 2GHz, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, optional 3G, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and the choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, BGR also confirms that it’s sources say that there’s also an 8.9-inch version in the works too.
These images come from a trusted source straight to BGR and are an exclusive first look at Amazon’s next-generation Kindle tablet. Rumours suggest that Amazon will be revealing the new Kindle Fire’s just in time for the holiday season.
