A new Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag trailer gives us a look at what it takes to make a Next Gen game and what we can expect to see in the future of gaming.

The video highlights elements like dramatic weather, light changes and the vast expansive sea that will play a huge role in the upcoming title. The sea will move in a realistic way to make the game as life like as possible, making the seas in the game both beautiful and dangerous. Another thing that will be working along side the sea is the weather changes, storms can change your current sailing expedition in the blink of an eye and with the new technology in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One the way the weather and the sea change will work seamless.

To add yet more realism to the game, the way items are captured in different lights has been overhauled, this will most likely make the same place almost look completely different from night to day. One particular thing that I’m looking forward to in the game is the boarding of another ship. Rather than it be a separate event in the game your ship, The Jackdaw and the enemy ship you choose to board will become a ‘map’ that you the player can decide what way you want to navigate. Climb the mast and come in from above or dispatch of some enemies using the swivel gun to ease your boarding when simply just jumping across the good old fashioned.
