vlcVLC is the go-to media player for anyone that wants to watch almost every video format easily, Android users have had a beta version for some time and now while iOS users had to deal with a 2 year absence.

Shortly after it’s release in October 2010 the sister app to the popular desktop version was pulled from the app store by VideoLAN themselves due to an issue with licensing. VideoLAN seem confident this won’t happen again saying,

“We worked hard with all major copyright holders to not repeat history and we are confident to have achieved this goal”

it looks like any previous issues between VLC and Apple have been ironed out as the app brings along with it some new features. including, subtitles support, Dropbox integration, support for AirPlay to name a few, the app requires iOS 5.1 or later and will work on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
