THQ may be no more and the many properties that they owned may be slowly getting picked up by other companies but good news is in the air. Deep Silver who have now owned Metro: Last Light for a few weeks have been able to confirm the multiplatform release for the squeal to the highly successful, post-apocalyptic shooter. If you have been missing your nuclear themed shooters then get ready for May.
That’s correct, Metro: Last Light will release on PC, Xbox and PS3 on May 14th in North America and then world wide on May 17th. Though the release date gap does make me high an eyebrow, as with any release, I can’t wait to get back into the world of the Metro. The pitch black train tunnels, the limited ammo and of course the story. Though Metro: last Light has a new publisher fans shouldn’t worry to much.
Deep Silver executive Menno van der Bill said in a press release:
“Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date, now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game. We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”
My own worry here is that Deep Silver have a bit of an up and down track record. Though Metro: Last Light is at the point in development that the new publish will have any impact I can’t help but worry about the franchise as a whole. Deep Silver after all did publish Dead Island. Yeah…
Remember to mark the date. May 17th is when the cold winds return to your living room.
