We sadly said goodbye to Dailybooth a few months ago and it was sad to see such a creative platform just disappear like that. Have no fear, Instagram is here to replace the once beloved Dailybooth – sort of..

Instagram began as a humble photo sharing social network exclusively for iOS, they then finally released their Android version and around a month later Facebook took over. From here Instagram have been at the front of most online news sources with their controversial change in their T’s & C’s as well as asking for some users proof of ID, and removing the live preview cards from Twitter. That aside Instagram has started to get more of a web presence instead of being a mobile exclusive service – which gave it it’s appeal. All of the recent changes seem to point to one thing – Facebook and their involvement in the photo sharing network.

When the announcement for the online profiles came out, it wasn’t such a bad thing. It let people who didn’t have the technology to view Instagram pictures to check out your profile. I thought it was a step in the right direction. But now you can view your Instagram Feed online too.

Instagram Web FeedSimilar to Tumblr’s dashboard and the feed that you’d find on your mobile app the Instagram feed displays a single column that has all of the photo’s that would appear on your feed via your iPhone or Android phone. It seems a little pointless at the moment, but I think sooner or later they’re going to add the option to upload pictures via the web page.

Co-Founder Kevin Systrom wrote on the Instagram blog “We do not offer the ability to upload from the web as Instagram is about producing photos on the go, in the real world, in realtime.” but we’ll soon see if that remains the case in a few months time.
