Armored Core is one of the longest running mecha based simulator/third person shooters with the first game Armored Core released in 1997 for the PlayStation. NamcoBandai announced yesterday that Armored Core: Verdict Day will be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the Autumn.
In Armored Core: Verdict Day the world has been thrown into chaos. The most important natural recources needed for survival are scavanged and fought over by deadly Armored Core mechs and players must command a squad of advanced mech units in order to take control of various territories from opposing players in the game.
Players familiar from the previous Armored Core game will recognise Operator Mode that’ll make a return from Armored Core V. Operator Mode allows players to command a squad of Armored Cores through various missions by relaying real-time commands to target opponents and setting rally points. In Armored Core: Verdict Day however FromSoftware has expanded the game mode to “fully command a squad of computer-controlled Armored Core mechs,” this creates a brand new RTS game more for the Armored Core series.
Armored Core V players can also “carry over” their save data letting them experience the brand new content that comes with Verdict Day with their customised Armored Core from the previous game. Not only that, but players will also be able to take advantage of the various new parts that come in Armored Core: Verdict Day.
On the Armored Core website (http://www.armoredcore.net) there’s a release date of 26/9/2013, but I think that’s the Japanese release date – not a world wide date.
